The Doors - Immersed (1967-1971) (6BR)

THE DOORS – IMMERSED (1967–1971) features Dolby ATMOS mixes of the band’s six studio albums on Blu-ray for the first time. Available exclusively through Rhino.com and thedoors.com, the set includes Dolby ATMOS, 5.1 surround, and high-resolution stereo (192/24) versions of THE DOORS, STRANGE DAYS, WAITING FOR THE SUN, THE SOFT PARADE, MORRISON HOTEL, and L.A. WOMAN.

Bruce Botnick, the band’s longtime engineer and mixer, created the immersive mixes, ā€œWith Atmos, having loudspeakers on the ceiling allows ā€˜Riders On The Storm’ to come alive with rain and thunder, and on ā€˜Horse Latitudes,’ it highlights the theatrical claustrophobia of Jim’s poetry.ā€

Spanning 1967 to 1971, the set’s six albums trace The Doors’ evolution from the chart-topping single ā€œLight My Fireā€ to the gritty blues of L.A. Woman. In just five years, the band pushed the boundaries of rock with its poetic lyricism and adventurous arrangements. More than half a century later, those albums comprise one of the most commercially successful and artistically daring catalogs of the era.
